FAMILY DENTISTRY
|
General Dentistry or Family Destistry is defined as the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide variety of conditions, disorders and diseases affecting the teeth, gums and entire jaw region of the body. It includes services related to the general maintenance of oral health.
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends that you visit your dentist regularly — at least once every six months — to ensure proper oral hygiene and functionality. Regular checkups and oral health maintenance prevent the development of serious dental problems that can require costly treatment. |
We will work with you to develop a customized dental hygiene and preventive plan that will prevent, uncover or treat any problems as early as possible.
We incorporate a variety of restorative procedures in the development of a comprehensive treatment plan that will repair the effects of tooth decay, trauma, defect, or disease in the mouth area.
COMMON FAMILY DENTISTRY PROCEDURES
Your teeth and gums are the foundation of a beautiful smile. Tooth decay and gum disease are some of the main reasons why people visit the dentist. Plaque builds up on teeth over time. If plaque forms below the gum line, bacteria can invade and create a host of other dental problems. Furthermore, the surfaces and areas between the teeth and under the gum line must be maintained and treated on a regular basis in order to ensure proper dental hygiene. Your gums require professional maintenance on a regular basis.
We perform a number of dental services such as:
• Oral examination
• Digital X-rays
• Tooth cleaning
• Removing calculus deposits
• Investigating discomfort and changes in your jaw or bite.
STERILIZATION TECHNIQUES
We maintain the strictest standards for sterilization procedures. Our patient's safety is our top priority. Our staff uses different kinds of protective gloves. Gloves are worn whenever skin could be in contact with body fluids during patient examinations and procedures. If you are allergic to rubber or latex, we can wear nitrile gloves, which do not contain any latex rubber proteins. The gloves are thrown away between patients, the hands get washed, and a new set of gloves is used to treat the next patient. Before you enter the examination room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, drawer handles, and countertops, are disinfected.
Our office is committed to using instruments and hand pieces that are properly sterilized. The effectiveness of our sterilizers is routinely checked by the established recommendations of the American Dental Association and Centers for Disease Control, using the 3M Attest (tm) biological monitoring system. Please contact Waltzer Dental with any questions or concerns. The dentist office is conveniently located in Cherry Hill and serves all of South Jersey.
